Freckles
Freckles are extra patches of brown spots that are found on your skin. Freckles are more common among people of fair complexion when they are exposed to sunlight.
Freckles mostly occur due to an increase in a dark pigment called melanin. Also, it can be caused due to an increase in pigment-producing melanocytes. Freckles are termed Ephelides and these are of 2 types. Ephelides Freckles are temporary and caused by sunlight exposure. Further, Lentigines Freckles are permanent brown spots.
Our treatment
Freckles can be avoided by regularly using sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. At a clinical level, we treat freckles with laser treatment and cryosurgery. Freckles that are caused by sun damage may increase with developing age. Here, our doctors will prescribe you creams and ointments that will cause less damage. Permanent freckles can be cured with cryosurgery and you will have clean and pure skin.
